Sugar Smith became a essential person in everyone's life she touched, Sugar helped many people who came through the Hamilton County Public Defender's Office. While working at the public Defender's Office, she pursued several degree for her love of learning. She recently buried her son and her younger brother , who she lovingly took care of. Sugar's health started failing her , but she remained diligent. She loved the Most High, who she lovingly praised in every moment of the day. We love and miss you.

Sugar was so sweet and kind to me when I was a baby public defender. Knowing how nervous I was as a new trial attorney, she always provided the encouragement I needed to be confident in the courtroom. She was quite a star at my wedding reception too. So many people approached me asking if we hired her for entertainment. They loved her! Chris and I laughed all night long.
My condolences to her family. Sugar was one of the most selfless human beings I have ever know . I will miss her dearly.
