Though born in Clermont, Florida, Ray was a true Indiana man. He grew to find his life calling as a daddy and an independent business owner. If you asked a million people who Ray Collins was they'd all tell you a different story. A superhero, a handyman, a brother, a uncle, a son, a hunter, a gun enthusiast, a dog lover, a mountain lover, a Harley rider, a Colts watcher a music lover, Play-dough eater, a hard worker, a smoker, the tallest man in the world, a long haired hippie country man... or maybe Ray was none of these things or perhaps he was all of them. He loved hard and with everything he had. He kept his word and his loyalty ran deep. His motto has always been "You're only as good as your word". It's no surprise though Ray played so many rolls in so many people's stories. But the greatest role he ever played was a dad.Dads are someone to look up to, someone to follow, someone to admire, someone to be proud of and someone to brag about, someone to hold and someone to cry with, someone to learn from and someone to respect, someone to listen to and someone to talk to, someone to try and impress, sometimes rebel against, and, someone, most of all, with whom to share everything this wonderful life has to offer.I am so incredibly grateful and happy that I can stand here today and tell you that I have had all this and much, much more. On July 4, 2021 I took my dad to the hospital. He had been sick for awhile and he thought it was just a bug. So they did some test and they came back in and sat us down. They told us “Ray you have cancer”. A few short days later we found out he had stage 4 and it was spreading fast. Dad went through surgery, chemo treatments, and yet he just kept getting worse. We called the ambulance on Friday the 29th. They ran a bunch of tests and found out the cancer had spread to his brain and throughout his whole body, and was causing a lot of pain and suffering. He was later put on a ventilator. The doctors came in and said there isn't anything else we can do for him; we are sorry you have to make the call. God took Ray home on 11-3-2021. I am asking for any help. Ray passed away very quickly. Unfortunately he has had no life insurance and his family could use some help paying his final expenses. Any donation and share helps. Thank you.
