James affectionately known as Jim passed away Sunday September 2, 2018. Jim had fought cancer twice and did not have any life insurance. This fund is set up to give Jim who was a Vietnam Veteran serving his country in the United States Army a dignified service. Any donations who be greatly appreciated on behalf of the family of Jim. James “Jim” Lee Speck, 68, of Findlay passed away Sunday September 2, 2018 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Bowling Green after a courageous fight with cancer.

James was born on February 16, 1950 in Defiance, Ohio to the late Harry and Ethel (Dunn) Speck. He married Lois Howard and she survives in Findlay. Also surviving are his children: Ashley (Timothy) Bissett, Nicole Howard and Rachel Maag, grandchildren: Skyler Trey, Zayaden, Liam, Melinda, Sara and Tosha; 4 great-grandchildren Serenity, Braelyn, Keyana and Isaic and siblings: Thomas (Denise) Speck, Kenneth Speck, Charlotte (Joseph) Smith and Phyllis Speck. He was preceded in death by his daughter Mechele Speck and his brother Robert Speck.

Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a collector and enjoyed coloring and was an excellent chili maker. The most important part of Jim’s life was his family. He loved and cherished the time he spent with them.

Visitation for Jim will be on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 3:00PM until the time of his Celebration of Life Service at 6:00 pm in the HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 201 Osborn Ave., Findlay, Ohio 45840. At the conclusion of his service, Military Honors will be rendered by the Hancock County Memorial Squad.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be gifted in Jim’s honor to his family c/o the Hanneman Funeral Home.
