We have known Earl since 2011 when his apartment burned down. He had no one and nothing due to the fire being a total loss. At the time we were introduced to him the landlord of the apartments had found him sleeping on the sidewalk the day following the fire. Our family stepped up and got him a place to stay and all the things he would need. Once learning he truly had no one we kept up the friendship and eventually took on the roll of caretakers due to Earl needing more help. Shortly after the fire we got him a companion, a little dog he named, Sissy. Since his passing we have taken Sissy in as she was already family. Throughout the years caring for Earl he spent Christmas, Thanksgiving, birthdays and all major family events with us. We have grown to know Earl as quite the jokester but he was so much more. Earl was one of the smartest, most caring and loving people around. Originally Earl’s wishes were for his body to be donated to a medical school for science. However, due to circumstances out of his and our control his body was rejected. Earl let it be known that if he couldn’t go to science he wanted to be cremated. Being 91 and living off of social security he didn’t have much. We would truly appreciate any help paying for his cremation.
