My mother Dawn Castillo was loved by many including her husband, daughter, son, grandchildren and great granddaughter.  She fought long and hard for the past 6 months to recover from her Congestive Heart Failure, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease  (COPD), Emphysema, and Diabetes.  She spent the last 6 months between Florida Hospital Altamonte and Florida Living Nursing home.  Doctors told us that her quality of life was declining and that she was suffering and in a lot of pain and that she needed to be placed on Hospice.  Even though it broke my heart I knew what needed to be done to disconnect her from life support.   Before Saturday she did not recognize  who we were or where she was.  My last good memory was the night before she went to the hospice center.  I brought a picture of her when she was a little girl and she smiled ear to ear.  At first I thought maybe she was getting better but actually I think she was preparing to go and to give me clarity that I made the right choice of disconnecting her.     After arriving at Hospice for the Comforter on Sunday March 25th she told the doctor that she was fine with him taking her off the ventilator.     She fought long and hard and finally the Lord brought her home on Thursday March 29th.   I know now in my heart that she is in a better place and is no longer suffering.

Dawn Castillo loved to travel, spending time with her family.  She also spoke five languages: English, Spanish, Greek, ASL, and Arabic. Got to meet her first great granddaughter.  She also loved spending weekends with her granddaughters and going shopping.  On Saturdays she loved going out to eat Chinese food with her husband and being able to spend time with him.

The reason why Im asking for help is because she did not have life insurance and financially we are unable to afford the cost of the funeral.
