Gene C Pitta 57 died suddenly January 31, 2023, at home. Born in Elizabeth, he resided in Howell before moving to Jackson 35 years ago. Gene worked as a truck driver for many years at Port Jersey in Dayton and H&H Transportation. He also was an EMT for 2 years in Jackson. He enjoyed watching his favorite football team, the Eagles and spending time with his family. He is predeceased by his father John Pitta, brother, Michael Conboy, nephew, Bobby, in-laws Dianna & Joseph Young, brothers-in-law Jay Young and Joe Young. Surviving is his wife of 18 years Dianna "Dee" and their daughter, Meagan & fiancé Jason, and granddaughter Aria, sisters-in-law Melanie Young and Lisa Young, brother-in-law, Jon Young & wife Kristy, nephews, Darren, Jay, Jeffrey, Michael, Jon, Eric, Ryan, Matthew, and Anthony, also nieces, Taylor, Lauren, Alex, Aubrey, Amy, and Arley. With great sadness, we announce the passing of Mr. Henry Albert Wallace, 72 of Charlotte (formerly of Morganton), who departed this earthly life on Wednesday January 4, 2023. Born on March 16, 1950, he was the son of the late Samuel Wallace and Essie Lee Moore. He was educated in the Burke County School system and following graduation he completed his Associates degree. He served his country in the United States Army from 1970 until 1971, receiving an Honorable discharge. Henry worked for Duke Energy for a number of years as a hydroelectric engineer. Left to cherish his loving memory are his children: Renee Coleman (Thomas) of Concord, NC, Steven Wallace (Tammy) of Asheville, NC, Gretchen Wallace, Allyson Wallace, and Ileah Wallace all of Morganton; siblings Maggie, Samuel, Maxine, Essie, Paul, and Charles; 4 grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ben was very proud of his military service in Korea as a Marine. His pride for his country was seen in everything he did for his family and friends. Ben hit hard times and was grateful to be able to stay in his home with the help of Soldier On. When Ben past, they were no longer able to help with his burial. The NJ Veterans Cemetery is where he will be placed for free. Ben's family is asking for help with the very discounted funeral expenses of$4000.

Benjamin Beverly 91 of Jackson died Monday December 19, 2022, at home. Born in Buena Vista, VA he resided in West Virginia before moving to Farmingdale for 9 years and then Jackson in 1998. He was a self-employed autobody mechanic for many years in Jackson. He served in the Korean War as a Corporal in the Marines from 1951-1953. He was a Bowling Master’s Tournament trophy winner in Long Branch. He enjoyed being with his family and caring for all in his circle of friends. His work was his pride and where he spent most of his time. Surviving is his son, William B Beverly and grandson, Damien. Interment is Tuesday 12:30PM at Brigadier Gen Wm C Doyle NJ Veterans cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Wounded Warriors 370 7th Ave, New York, NY 10001. Nancy Lynn Shadle, age 64, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis.

She was born August 25, 1958, in Urbana, the daughter of Lloyd Dale Fulk and Alice Louise (Tatman) Fulk.

Nancy attended Clay City Schools. She had worked for many years as a caregiver at the Flora Pavillion and the Burge House, and is remembered by many people for her compassionate care of their loved ones. She enjoyed "dumpster diving," collecting themed items, including things related to Tweety Bird, mushrooms, and high heels, and she sincerely had a warm and caring heart with a willingness to help whenever she could. Nancy was of the Christian faith.

She is survived by her 2 sons: Jason Shadle of Colorado and Justin Shadle of Ingraham; 4 grandchildren: Lucas, Jordyn, Justyce, and Juztin Shadle; 2 brothers: Rich Tatman of Danville and Tim Fulk of Mayfield, Kentucky; 2 sisters: Pam (Dean) Hudson of Urbana and Lisa (Bob) Simpson of Ingraham; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Lloyd Dale and Gertrude Fulk, and Alice Louise Fulk; and 2 sisters: Debbie Powell and Julie Bradley.

A visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. on Monday, December 26, 2022, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. A Celebration of Life Ceremony for Nancy will be held beginning at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Evans officiating.
